Used recording method: Unless otherwise stated, samples are recorded by running uncompressed source audio from a DAW connected to a DHD Digital mixer using AES 48Khz. This is routed through the Orban Optimod and the output of the Optimod is connected to the same DHD Digital mixed which feeds it back into the DAW using AES 48Khz. For FM processing path we use the 50uS emphasis and de-emphasis curve, or on HD processing we use "Flat". The sample is recorded at 48Khz 24-bit wav and this is the sample provided on this website. All levels are -9dbfs, when you download and use one of our presets make sure to adjust the AGC or I/O reference levels to match your level standard. We usually make the AGC work around 10db of gain reduction after setting the correct reference level as instructed by Orban Manuals.

Disclaimer: While we stand behind our presets we also recognize that it is a very subjective matter. Ask 10 people's opinion and you'll probably get 10 different answers. Our presets are meant to complement the existing factory presets which were carefully crafted by Orban. While the factory presets are a great starting point our presets aim at adding more signature texture to the sound. The meaning of "signature" can be very broad and range from frequency boost, compression, clipping, HF enhance or tasteful harmonic distortion in any combination. We acknowledge that our presets are on the aggressive side offering you the possibility to easily tune and tame down any unpleasant element in our presets. Finally, we want to emphasize that you should not make any judgement of the Orban products based on the samples and presets provided on this website.
